The largest ophthalmology organization in the midwest, Cincinnati Eye Institute (CEI) has embarked on a new partnership that has the potential to grow one of the nation’s leading eye care organizations to new heights.
CEI’s management team will continue to lead under the newly formed management services organization, CEI Vision Partners (CVP), which was made possible through a capital investment by Revelstoke Capital Partners, a Denver-based private equity firm. The organization’s mission to “enhance the quality of patients’ lives by providing the highest level of eye care in the region” will remain the major goal of the new parent company.
“For more than 70 years, CEI has been growing as a world-class center of ophthalmic care,” says Robert Foster, M.D., chairman of the board at CEI. “CVP will become one of the largest and most comprehensive eye care management companies in the nation. We will continue to lead the way in vision clinical care, surgery and research, all supported by an innovative, best-in-class management team.”
“Our vision is to build the leading ophthalmology management services organization in the industry, centered around partnerships with physicians who provide the highest quality of care,” says Andrew Welch, managing director of Revelstoke Capital Partners. “Our strategy is to grow, organically and through additional partnerships with other leading practices.”
CEI patients and business partners will experience little change in how they receive services from CVP, but the organization expects the new investment to open greater access to care through the expansion. “We see tremendous growth opportunities by recruiting top providers, opening new clinical and surgical facilities, expanding our patient care and business support services, and aligning with market-leading provider groups,” says Daniel Miller, M.D., Ph.D., and chief medical officer at CEI.
Much of the expected growth will happen through the acquisition of other eye care practices. The larger infrastructure will allow CVP to offer services to other eye care practices that can benefit from CVP organizational growth.
CVP is one of the largest regional ophthalmology organizations in the U.S., boasting more than 60 ophthalmologists and optometrists, 14 clinical centers, and three ambulatory surgical centers.
CVP has office locations throughout the Cincinnati area, including Northern Kentucky and Indiana. For more information, visit www.ceivp.com.
