A very special event will take place this fall in the Grand Ballroom at Cincinnati’s historic Music Hall. DesignBuildCincy, a unique show, features fine craftsmanship and design for consumers and professionals interested in architecture, remodeling and renovation. The show will take place Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28 in the heart of Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine, where visitors can walk to the area’s many attractions: Washington Park, local bars, restaurants and Findlay Market, or use the Connector to arrive at the steps of Music Hall.
DesignBuildCincy is a one-of-a-kind experience. Nowhere else in the country is there a show featuring local designers, architects and fabricators committed to creating high-quality products that blend beauty, form and function. Visitors to the show will meet over 100 contractors, craftsmen, designers, fabricators, retailers and suppliers who will display their products and services.
Doug Hart, producer of this 4th edition of DesignBuildCincy, makes the point that this is a curated show, much like the best art shows. Both visitors and exhibitors expect an environment of quality and sophistication. Fabricators are carefully selected for the craftmanship and care they put into their work while the suppliers, designers and contractors are companies that work with the higher end residential and small commercial markets. The event showcases work from the Cincinnati region. Local artisans promote a pride-of-place that is not evident in the large international design shows you might find in New York or Chicago.
DesignBuildCincy will also be educational and entertaining. There are two presentation stages. A “Meet the Maker” stage and the “DesignBuildCincy | Soapbox Speaker Series Stage”. The Meet the Makers Stage is a more intimate, one on one experience with a local fabricator/artisan who will be talking about and sharing his/her work. The Soapbox Series Stage will feature local architects, designers and contractors presenting a range of design topics for attendees planning a project or who are interested in interior design. Both have limited seating. Check www.designbuildcincy.com for a list of presenters, times and topics. All presentations are included with the price of admission. A café area and open bar will be available with a wide selection of local food and beverages. There will also be a DesignBuildMarket where visitors can place orders for furnishings and fixtures.
Vendors at previous shows had this to say:
“What a wonderful forum to have for designers and custom builders! Love it!”- Doni Flanigan.
“Great show, quality vendors, incredible variety! A one-stop shop for
artists and craftsmen alike.” – Rick Meyer.
