“My goal is to have my team bring the passion of what they’ve learned back to their clients,” says Tieman. “It keeps them fresh, enthusiastic and the best in the business.” She sees it as a circular business model; if she invests in the highest level of education for her team, she is also investing in her clients.

Fifteen years ago, when people wanted their hair straight, Tanya’s was one of the first salons in the country to use the thermal-reconditioning process. “People drove from all other the country to Tanya’s to get that service,” Tieman says. When Keratin straightening treatments debuted, Tanya’s was one of the first to use it as well.
Tieman is proud that her salon that has used formaldehyde-free, non-toxic products that don’t harm hair.
“Tanya’s is a wellness salon,” Tieman stresses, “We believe in having the best quality products that will not harm you. I personally go out and do the research and I find this stuff.
“You really don’t have to be a movie star walking through the door,” she continues. “We position ourselves as a salon for everyone.”
