West Chester Hospital celebrated the 5th Annual Fundraising Event benefiting innovation in patient education and communication on April 22. This year’s event theme was “Celebrating the 80s” - it was a fun opportunity for guests to celebrate the past while supporting the future of healthcare in our community.
Music, movies, fads and fashions were fair game. Guests danced to live music from the 80s with songs from Madonna, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, U2, Van Halen and the B-52s. The event was held at the newest event venue in West Chester, Centre Park. Attendees sampled tasty selections by the bite prepared by Johnny's Italian Steakhouse. The venue was decked out in 80s decor, which created a fun backdrop for the fabulous raffles, silent auction and live auction.
Proceeds from the event are directed toward cutting edge technology for innovative patient care initiatives. These initiatives include Inpatient Rounding Interactive Software (IRIS) which will utilize modern healthcare technology to engage patients in their care during their inpatient stay, improving interactions between patient and provider in order to improve patient outcomes. West Chester Hospital is one of the first hospitals in the nation to run trials of this new software system.
