More than 400 people danced the night away at a gala event last Friday night to benefit the newly opened Maternity Services unit at West Chester Hospital. Disco Fever was the theme of the night, as the crowd boogied down, did the Hustle and relived the 70s in style.
Donations and contributions were made to the event by over 120 local businesses including a very unique silent auction. Local students, non-profit organizations, local artists and West Chester Hospital staff fashioned one-of-a-kind hand-crafted and hand-painted heirloom quality cradles that added some fun and pizazz to the festivities.
A SimBaby™ model will be purchased with the $100,000 proceeds raised through the event. These advanced infant patient simulators will be used to train hospital staff and emergency medical personnel in both routine care and critical emergencies.
