Trends are ever-changing in the fashion world, and wedding fashion is no exception to that. Amanda Cacaro, owner of Hyde Park Bridal, and her team visit the Bridal Market in New York City to get a jump on the newest trends and the hottest styles every year. Cacaro shared the biggest news in upcoming trends:
Gold
We are so excited that gold has slowly but surely worked its way into a trend that’s here to stay. Traditional silver beading has transformed into warmer gold tones that are always flattering and go right along with the big gold rush in wedding decor as well. One of our favorite surprises from Bridal Market was this gold metallic lace and tulle from Tara Keely by Lazaro.
Corset Bodices
Corset bodices have been subtly sneaking their way into collections for years but the time has come to fully embrace the sheer corset in bridal gowns. We have a feeling this trend is here to stay, and you could always line the bodice to give a bit more modesty while still having the corset look.
Texture
There’s been a leap from traditional lace to more textured fabrics! From beaded embroidery to appliques, there has been a huge shift away from cookie cutter lace bridal gowns towards dramatic ways of making gowns unique and one of a kind! Perfect for the bride who wants a classic shape but doesn’t want to look like every other bride.
Floral Details
Going off of the super popular texture trend, floral details throughout bridal gowns were all over the runways for spring. Whether it be floral prints or three-dimensional floral appliques as seen in one of Hayley Paige’s very own wedding gowns, flower power is all the rage and a great way to add color.
Plunging Necklines
Last season was all about the plunging back; this season is all about drawing attention to the front. It’s perfect for a bride with a smaller chest who wants to draw more attention to the neckline than the back. Often accompanied with an intricate illusion lace or thick strap still providing plenty of coverage with ultra sex appeal.
Off the Shoulder Necklines
This vintage look is making its way back in a big way. A great alternative to strapless, it gives you a little more support while showing off your décolletage beautifully. Super feminine and flattering on any bride.
