John proposed to Stephanie on November 28, 2012, a year-and-a-half after they started dating. The couple had been busy putting up their Christmas tree the day before the proposal when Stephanie gave John an ornament to commemorate the recent passing of his grandfather.

“The next day I had gotten home from work and he had said that he had something special for me because I got him the ornament and it meant so much to him,” says Stephanie. “I thought he had an ornament for me, but no, he had an engagement ring!”

As the couple began planning their wedding, Stephanie knew she wanted to create an event that was both classy and elegant. She settled on ivory and champagne as her wedding colors. With a number of guests coming from out of town, the couple thought the city views of Cincinnati from Drees Pavilion in Covington’s Devou Park would provide the perfect backdrop for their March 8 wedding. To execute their vision the couple hired Nidhi Bedi to plan the once-in-a-lifetime event.

“Nidhi was amazing! I would just tell her what I needed or what I wanted and she took care of it completely,” says Stephanie. “She knew exactly who to contact for the things I was looking for and wanting.”

With Bedi’s help, the couple’s wedding was exactly what they had envisioned. Throughout their wedding day the couple shared a number of special moments, but one of their favorites was when they first laid eyes on one another before the ceremony.

“Before the ceremony we did our first look. I remember standing there by the river and I could hear John walking behind me to come see me. I could just her him sobbing – it was just sweet because you always wonder what it is going to be like for the other person,” says Stephanie. “Hearing him and then seeing him you could just tell that it was special."
